It plays what you want to hear!
Takes a station or 2 to get it dialed in, but gads, very good. I'm impressed....

You hear your favorite artists, and similar artists that you have never heard. Don't like it, just say so. Like it, and it plays more.

I love blues and funk, and that's what it plays! Blues and funky horns.

I wonder if the audio is good enough to put on the big system......

I love Pandora, or I did. It's been blocked up here in Canuckistan for several years, something to do with royalties. I bought hundreds of CDs and LPs due to all the great music I was able to discover through Pandora. Now it's Youtube, not as much fun.

Oh yes, been using it for years. Love it.
Having been thru many, many Internet radio services over the past 10 years, I can tell you that Pandora is the best. Try other if you want, there is a lot of fun stuff out there, but you'll come back to Pandora.:2thumbsup:

I listened to it early on, but got tired of not getting what I wanted, so switched to GrooveShark where I could create my own play-lists, etc.. Lately though, I've been on an oldies 'trip': Playa Cofi Jukebox - Our Musical Heritage

I just got a Droid phone last week, (wife had an upgrade & did not want to get a iphone).

I had been using grooveshark on my pc for a while, after a buddy showed it to me and I like how it works.

Pandora I really like at times, but sometimes it irks me to no avail....Some radio stations are great and actually play the artist that you searched out, some pfffffftttt, you can forget about it. They might the artist once an hour, then you hear everything else that they consider is related to the artist that you searched out.

I am only using the free version though....

I attempted to use grooveshark mobile, but it wasn't free, even though it was labeled and classified as a free app in the app market... oh well.


I also tried slacker radio & last fm. I do not think they are as good as pandora.

Yeah, Pandora isn't perfect. And it really depends on the type of music. If I put together a Be-bop or straight ahead jazz station, I get a nice variety. Ditto certain types of Reggae or Classical. Other genres can go very wrong.....

I like it because it tends to play the style I'm interested in, with a good bit of stuff I've never heard. That's fun.

Yes Pandora is pretty cool.But for me it defeats the purpose of listening through my computer when I got a boatload of audio equipment and Altecs to the ceiling. What I've been doing is I have a MP3 player loaded 16gb actually I use 2 of them 8gb to for when one battery goes low I'll use the other and then charge that one.I load them with all the tunes I like thousands and put it on shuffle hook the player up to my home stereo via RCA cables.And it plays only songs that I have downloaded therefore I know I'm going to like.I downloaded them from Napster $14 a month not too bad, also tunes that I have ripped from cd's now if I can get Pandora piped to my stereo I'll have the best of both worlds :CAT:

I've been using Pandora for about three years now. It works well for the rock radio stations I've programmed it for. I've found it to be a great way to discover new (and old) artists. For example, start a Beatles radio station and it plays groups with a Beatlesque sound such as Badfinger, etc. If a song/group comes on that you don't like, you tell it to never play that song again. If a song comes on that you really like, you tell it to play more songs like that. The radio station you're creating remembers all of your comments/tweaks and it gets closer and closer to "batting 1000" as far as playing mainly stuff you like. There are days when I discover several great new artists that I've never heard of and that's really it's strength. Pandora is designed to be a way to find new (and old) artists you'll like that you've never heard before and mix them in with stuff you already know. For example, my Beatles station plays some Beatles songs and mixes them in with tons of other great stuff--especially now that I've tweaked it with my responses of "never play this song again" and "play more songs like this one". I've got several different Pandora stations now and they all rock. I may listen to it for an hour or so on a typical day while I'm on my computer working/surfing and yes the sound quality isn't the best, but for me it's a means and not an end. In other words, it's a means for me to find bands that I like--once I discover them on pandora--I buy the vinyl or cd and then I've got killer sound quality over my altecs and a great variety of bands I've newly discovered instead of just listening to my same collection (which, no matter how big your collection is, there's nothing like discovering a great band/album/song etc. that you've never heard before IMHO).......
